This section shows the development of a costume from the research images to the final costume. Many hours are spent doing research searching for images that illustrate a moment or action in the script. Different periods require different kinds of research. Projects set in the 20th century use primary research such as clothing catalogs, magazine editorials, advertisements, and photo documentary of cultural events from the period. Films set in pre- photography periods require more in depth research. Looking at paintings of the period, drawings, textiles, sculpture and written descriptions help bring to life a believable world within the film story. The following are some examples……
